The Salary Cap for the 2005-2006 season is $60 million. In general you may NOT go over the cap. The exceptions are as follows:
You may go over the cap if it is by DRAFTING a player. This rule applies to players drafted in the initial "all player draft" and subsequent "rookie drafts."
Also, you may go over if it is signing a player to the minimum contract ($500,000).
If you are over the cap or if the trade will take you over the cap, the salaries you receive must not be more than 125% of the salaries you receive. When comparing salaries, we compare the current year.
If for whatever reason (death, retirement, debilitating injury, etc) a player is not in the most current version of NBA Live, you are released of your financial obligation to that player. As long as he is in the most current version of NBA Live, he is yours.
